To think or not to think?

Discussing. Deciding. Conferring. Thinking. Dreaming. Doubting. If you all do not already know. I am the "Jaz" and the colorful nonconformist in his own mind is the "imberley." We did have a discussion the other day about life, the process of thinking, the logic behind thinking, and the purpose for why it even exists. Thinking is an important characteristic that we have as human beings possess over every other mammal. As I heard an individual state before " God gave the lion his roar, but humans thought and prayer." I think the big difference between Imberley and I is that though I question everything around me, though I ponder about many thoughts and reasons; I consider as true that humans are not meant to know everything. Just as it is impossible for everyone to be perfect, reach 8,0000,000,0000 light years away from our Earth, or fly. Take a look at the world around us, think about the world beyond our world, the space that takes up our world, and everything in between. Imberley questions why? as do I, but i have an understanding with myself, with my creator, with my mind and body that I am not meant to know why about everything. Does that mean I should not think, not question, not ponder, doubt, or dream? Not at all. If you really think, I mean consume yourself about thought about everything that happens in this world, you would inevitably be a really depressed person.  Thinking is a race one will never win. Maybe it depends on what you think about. The thoughts in which I have are different to Imberely's. Maybe others choose not to think about the bad and focus on the good. Maybe others choose to think about math or writing or creating a new world; not necessarily the viscous cycle of life. Maybe people are ignorance due to the sake of their own sanity. Maybe not.  Through this thing called thought, comes hope. Hope is the answer to all in my eyes. Hope through belief and  incomprehension. Hope is the foundation to all in my eyes. Maybe I am blind, maybe I can see the moon, maybe I see swrils of figrues that do not exist. Nevertheless they are my eyes. What do you see?

Thoughts; Why

So today I had a discussion with my co-blogger about thoughts, thinking, and "why." Sooo...it's time for another post!

The human mind is endowed with this wonderful ability to think, reason, consider, process, mull-over, whatever one must call it. So why is it that some people choose not to think about certain things...?

Time is immeasurably precious. There is no reason to waste it. Ever. This is where thinking comes into play: have you ever sat there and thought "...why am I doing this...?" It's an interesting question...I will admit, I have recently discovered this power of mine to think. Just ask yourself why. It works wonders for the human life.

Now to tie this to something more gripping, or perhaps controversial: Why do people have such a problem with homosexuality?

STOP!

IF YOUR ANSWER IS "Because                  told me it was wrong," "Because the Bible says it's wrong," or "Because it is immoral," ask yourself

WHY

Ok. Do you have a good answer...? Why is it immoral? WHY does the bible say it is wrong? Why are you, your parents, or those who find it immoral, so deeply convinced that it is a sin?

I'd like an answer

Blindly following the blind is just as self-effacing as conforming to a society and it's beliefs.

I'm going to say this now, be forewarned:

i'm about to get VERY controversial here. Me and my co-blogger have some beliefs that are polar opposites, and others that are perfectly aligned. This will make for an interesting ride. :]

you've been warned...

with that in mind, enjoy the life of the blog. it will, from this day forward, be branching off quite sharply...

Nonconformity and the Human Conundrum

Society: A group of people with regulations and rules mandated for their protection; a collection of individuals with a common set of ideals; a majority inherently exclusive of some minority in a designated region.
In a society, there a those who fit, and those who

Dont

What are the effects of a society? It's an interesting effect upon careful consideration. What is a major tenet of a society? [a common set of ideals]. That could be considered their general morality, as well as their general belief system. And what happens to those who don't fit?

(S O C I E T Y) <-- that's the box of society. We'll call it a microcosm

In a microcosm, situations, individuals, ideals that one has never encountered seem foreign, alien, wrong. If a certain set of humans are right to you, and another set are wrong, what do they become in your mind? something subhuman...?

With a rejection of difference comes an idea that some people are inherently beneath those who fit the rules of an exclusive society

We are fortunate enough to live in a great country in which freedom of speech is a right, not a privilege.

It is the responsibility of the dehumanized to fight back.

Every human being is equal. We are all of equal potential. And because some people dont fit a mold, who's right is it to look down on them?

NONCONFORMITY

Fight. Back.

To conform: to erase one's essential essence to fit an idea; the self-effacing that occurs when one is pressured to change identity.

This is why i speak out. i no longer accept evanescence. i will not evaporate to fit this society. i will not become something hollow.

i am a human being.

so what is the human conundrum: how do we fix the exclusive, erasing effects of society? to abolish society is to revert to animilistic instinctual living...right?

...can you solve the
human conundrum...?

Power of Silence??

Who are true friends? This question really got me thinking a lot today. Throughout my entire day I would hear individuals who are apparently friends bashing each other behind backs. It was actually kind of amusing, but really sad as well. I tried to dissect different ways of looking at this one thing that relates to a lot of other things. For example, is loyalty harder today than it was two or three hundred years ago? If you say yes, is that a cop out excuse? Human nature is to engage with other human beings. We are social mammals that adore interaction and conversation. If one goes against that nature is he/she more powerful or disciplined? I went from the back stabbing of friends to avoiding everyone and not talking at all. This is not the solution that I am prosing, it is just something that is relative to one another in my mind.
I first started questioning the power of silence after reading an interview with Alice Walker. She talked about how the world would not be what it is today without those individuals who isolate themselves and live in solitude. Many individuals would characterize me as as loud, outspoken individual; nevertheless the topic interested me a lot. Having friends that aren't truly friends, having interaction that is taunted and not real could be equivalent to solitude itself. Are people scared to be alone? Think about it, one can always talk to someone else in some way, shape, or form; whether it be through a text, email, chat, call, skype,or just seeing someone every single day with a combination to the things listed above. Why deal with interaction when interaction can be equivocal to loneliness itself. A leaf is alone on a tree even though there are other leaves around it. Despite this, one leaf is still significant, it is still a vital part of the entire tree. The big picture. I didn't mean to get all Walt Whitman, but my main point is that eventually a leaf falls of a tree. One could argue that the leaf dies because of falling off the tree, or one could argue that as the leaf withers away and helps other leaves to form. Maybe this is sacrifice, maybe its a cycle, whatever way you want to look at it solitude serves equal significance to the loud noise that embodies and distracts the human mind. It can be argued that it is even more important, more relevant because it is against common human behavior. Because we as humans crave voice, love, attention, interaction.. etc.. when one goes against that notation and accepts solitude. Is he a coward to the people around him? Or is he stronger than the average human being?  Maybe both. What can a man do when the world rejects him than just sit in solitude and think of the limitless dimensions. The world beyond the world.

Reasons for Ranting and Raving; Part II

Hi
so im the other person on this site. you'll notice the informal style with which i write, and by informal, i mean the lack of grammatical accuracy. well, that's all a part of being a non-conformist :] this is why I personally rant and rave. conforming to society is the perfect means to erase one's existence. and through this website i will show that. Truth be told I totally despise the use of informal grammar. however it is all a statement :]

So, this is what you should take from this site:

It is a forum for discussion, a place for ideas, a voice for the unspoken, a rejection of the normal, a pathway from which to SPEAK OUT. because those who relinquish their personal voice relenquish their autonomy, their right to live, they relinquish the very essence of their humanity.

so i ask of you

Speak out, be different, reject the pressure, create your own pressure, pressure yourself, push yourself, become something great. FIND YOURSELF.

This is the place to do it :]

welcome, we are the voice of the voiceless.

Be. Something. Different.

Be. Somebody.

The Purpose of Ranting and Raving

If one looked up the definiton of rant he/she would find the following:
  • talk in a noisy, excited, or declamatory manner

  • bombast: pompous or pretentious talk or writing

  • speech or text that does not present a well-researched and calm argument; rather, it is typically an attack on an idea, a person or an institution. Very often rants lack proven claims. Such attacks are usually personal attacks.

  • A wild, incoherent, emotional articulation

  • etc. etc. etc. etc. etc..... SNORE
If one did the same for rave he/she would find similar defintions that aren't as pompous or obnoxious. With all of that in mind, you are probably wondering why in the world we chose this name in the first place. Despite all of the negative connotations which rise from the definitons; there is a similarity which I see that defines what I am personally about as a living, breathing human being: PASSION. Everything that is written in this blog has a purpose. It has a message and a claim that yes maybe the world isn't ready to hear, but it will make a statement nevertheless. A rave is not necessarily haphazarly researched or a faulty attack. A rant is continuous, it links different things together that sometimes are and sometimes aren't cohesive  in reality's perspective. Reality's perspective has been whacked for a looooooooooooooong time anyways; making it an unstable foundation to build my outlooks on life as it is now. That being said don't shy away from ranting or raving; through those acts we as humans are questioning the world around us, questioning what others ignore, forget, or find insignificant. Without the rants and raves of millions  before me, not only would my place in society be completely not worthy of notice it would be nonexistence. For I do not exist as a human without my ability to rant and rave.  JOIN ME :)
